What exactly is a BT ID?

BT Group – Your BT ID username is what you use to log into the BT Email services, and it is generally the email address that you were given when you set up your account unless you have discovered an earlier account, in which case you may be using another provider email address.

All you need is a BT ID to customize your account through My BT, and it works across all of your online services, as well as extras like Cloud and Wi-Fi, and with the applications, so you only need to remember one email address and password.

What is the email address for BT?

You may use the free email when you sign up for broadband. When the new broadband service is ready, you will need to use your BT ID to log in to My BT Mail and set it up. When you first use it, you will be asked to provide an email address that ends in @bitinternet.com. By checking in at bt.com/email, you may use this to send and receive emails.

BT email is also available as a paid-for service called Standalone (Premium) email. It operates just like the free email that comes with BT broadband, but you have to pay for it. Depending on how you set up your BT Mail account, your BT ID and BT email address may be the same.

How to Create a BT ID: First, go to the main BT Mail Website.

  • Now, select Manage Account from the drop-down menu.
  • You will need a valid email address and your BT Mail account number to proceed.
  • Your BT account number may be found in the upper right corner of every bill we have issued you.
  • Enter your email address and then re-enter your email address.
  • When you click Continue, you will be given your BT ID.
